Amazon Announces Salesforce Commerce Cloud Integration for Prime

By Sasha Semjonova

Amazon has taken another step forward in its partnership with Salesforce by announcing a Prime integration with Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

This integration will allow merchants to make use of the “Buy with Prime” feature on their own storefronts, providing a trustworthy and familiar buying option for customers. As of yesterday, this feature is currently invite-only but will be available to all US-based merchants later this year.

Prime Integration

Bringing the widely-recognized Buy with Prime feature to external storefronts has many benefits. Amazon Prime’s reputation for efficiency means that customers will be more likely to buy a due product, but there are also technical benefits. For example, this integration offers a host of new features, such as the ability to search and filter for Prime-eligible items and other items in the same order.

It will also offer millions of Prime customers fast, free delivery and easy returns, right from a merchant’s storefront.

These benefits don’t stop with the customer either. For merchants looking to expand their reach and generate more revenue, this integration will help them connect with new shoppers and increase their conversion rate due to Prime’s advantages.

Utilizing Commerce Cloud

Intending to make the whole experience as seamless as possible, Amazon has chosen Salesforce Commerce Cloud as their tool of choice. Commerce Cloud will facilitate this integration into merchants’ existing storefronts while maintaining control of their stores’ shopper experience.

The Buy with Prime feature automatically syncs with Salesforce Order Management, including orders, promotions, and catalog listings. This end-to-end integration is also customizable, so that merchants can tailor areas such as product, cart, and checkout pages to suit their customers’ needs best.

Salesforce Order Management System

Aside from the features of the Salesforce Order Management system mentioned above, it also comes with a few more than both sellers and customers can benefit from. In its simplicity, it provides a centralized system to manage orders and provides a comfortable streamlined buying process from start to finish.

Not only that, but merchants can also make use of a 360-degree of their business and orders, more inventory insights, and more efficient management of sales channels.

Summary

As more and more companies are having to adapt to changing customer habits, it’s clear that a strong focus is being placed on increasing buying rates by establishing customers’ trust and providing them with familiar and reliable tools – just like Amazon Prime.
After the invitation-only period, this integration will be available to all US-based merchants via the Salesforce AppExchange.
