  • Streamline prospecting and communication with complete phone number verification.
  • Leverage flexible API integrations to validate information at scale.

Making sure that the information input into your CRM is reliable can be a huge lift, and while there are some out-of-the-box ways to ensure a certain format is followed, such as validation rules or field types, there’s no guarantee that the data will be up to par.

As an established data provider, especially when it comes to addresses, Loqate is here to help Salesforce users leverage these capabilities. By ensuring global coverage for address, phone, and email verification, all your organization’s data accuracy needs can be met in one place. The tool offers readily available components that you can start using from day one, as well as robust APIs for any automation needs. Loqate is bound to help your organization maintain data integrity as you scale.

This in-depth review will showcase the main Loqate for Salesforce features, ideal use cases, and setup effort, as well as how fast your users can (and will) adopt this new tool.

Features

Loqate for Salesforce is available for any Standard or Custom Salesforce object, and in this post, we will explore all the components from the lightweight managed package powered by the Loqate platform.

Get Mapping

First things first, in order to make use of the Address Verification functionality, the corresponding mappings have to be created within the Loqate Settings tab. After inputting your API Key provided in the Loqate account, you’re ready to pick and choose fields from any object to store the verified information for later use.

There’s no limit as to where you can input the data, especially in situations wherein you have more than one group of address fields on any object. You can choose to have multiple mappings per object to cater to all address validation needs – for example, you may want to keep the information that was provided by the customer but add the validated address in another place, and Loqate helps you do exactly that.

One example of this can be the Account object, which has a Billing and Shipping address out of the box. In the event that the Billing Address needs to stay as it was inputted, Loqate could help you validate and update the Shipping address to ensure the product reaches the correct location. And in the event that they both need to be updated, you can easily create a mapping for each.

Once a mapping is created, you can always come back and edit it as needed, with many elements available to choose from, including Country ISO2 and ISO3 codes.

Lightning Record Pages

In order for your users to see the address mappings in action and also start using the other two available components, they need to be added on Record Pages. The Address Finder component also has a couple of attributes that you can establish at this point. You can default the component to one specific mapping rather than allowing users to make a selection and change the title of the component for clarity around which address will be updated if needed.

The Email Verification component can be added on Record Pages, but also on other Lightning Pages as, unlike the Address Finder, it is not tied to any mapping. The same applies to the Phone Number validator as well, offering you the flexibility to extend the functionality beyond individual records.

Address Validation and Update

Now that the Lightning Web Component is added to the Account Record Page, let’s give it a try. Users have to manually start inputting the address, and while doing so, Loqate will start showing recommendations.

The easiest way to achieve this is to input the postal code, if available, but using any of the information you have will also work. Multiple options will surface, and the users can choose the correct match. With just one click on their selection, the fields that you established in the mapping will automatically be updated, removing the need to amend them after finding the complete address.

Email Verification

Ensuring your emails are delivered, and to the correct person, is a tale as old as time for companies. With email often being the main point of contact for both sales and marketing teams, ensuring its accuracy is paramount. The Loqate Email validator is a straightforward mechanism that allows users to simply paste an email address and verify it, with the response being instantly available.

On top of the validity of the email, other data points are provided as well, including if the email is disposable or even flagged as a fraud risk, as Loqate pings the server to confirm all additional details at the same time as checking its validity.

Phone Verification

Similar to the Email validator, the Phone Number validator is just as easy to use and ideal for users who need to double-check contact information before reaching out to prospects, for example. Users will have to select a country code, but the format of the number they paste for verification can be any they have available. Loqate will automatically reformat the number – for example, remove the brackets, as you can see below.

Not only will a response immediately be displayed, but additional details, such as the network operator and number type, will also be accessible once the request is completed.

Use Cases

Data validation goes hand in hand with multiple business processes, and regardless of a company’s industry, correct addresses, phone numbers, and, most importantly, email addresses ensure that either service delivery or communication is done smoothly.

Reduce failed deliveries

Possibly the most prevalent use case for a correct address is shipping physical goods, as having incorrect information will directly impact customer satisfaction, create delays, and cause extra work for all involved parties. By offering the ability to not only validate but also automatically complete the address information on the record, Loqate for Salesforce can set your company up for success with just a few clicks.

In addition to customer satisfaction, which is by far the number one priority, Loqate helps reduce the costs associated with redelivery, which the business generally supports.

Validate at Scale

Having the ability to manually verify information is already a step in the right direction, but the end-to-end process doesn’t stop there. If you have been wondering how this can be automated, the answer lies within Loqate’s multiple APIs, which can streamline the overall workflow in no time.

For example, you can leverage the Email Bulk Validation API to verify all of your Leads and Contacts at the beginning, paired with the Interactive Validate v2 whenever a new record is created. As long as your HTTP requests contain at least the API Key and an email address, this could be a quick way to bring your records up to speed in no time.

Setup

Setting up Loqate for Salesforce can be a matter of minutes. The only required steps are to install the managed package, generate an API key from your Loqate Account, complete the field mapping for the address validation functionality, and make the components available to users by assigning the out-of-the-box permission sets:

  • Loqate User: For end-users who will be using the address finder, email, and phone validation components.
  • Loqate Administrator: For Salesforce Administrators or users who will be editing the Loqate settings.

This setup time may increase if you will be exploring custom automations and making use of Loqate’s APIs. Depending on your organization’s needs, you may want to explore other available settings as well.

Note that the API key will be the main mechanism to report on the usage, so if you are already using Loqate on your website, for example, a new one should be created to be used in Salesforce only.

Support

As an already established platform, Loqate provides extensive documentation about all of their products, as well as potential integrations, which can be found here.

Pricing

All of Loqate’s solutions have a consumption-based pricing model, and each data point’s cost breakdown can be found below. Lookups can be easily replenished directly from your account with a credit card, and you can choose to either purchase as needed or enroll for automatic payments.

Regardless of the option you choose to go for, you will have 12 months to consume the allowance. You could also make use of the free trial available for 14 days, which includes 50 daily credits for you to explore the functionality.

Summary

All in all, validating customer contact and address information can streamline existing processes, varying from sales, marketing, and, of course, delivery. Having the correct information with ease should be the norm, and Loqate for Salesforce could help you get there.
