How to Verify Your Salesforce Certifications

By Andreea Doroftei

Now that you’re a Salesforce-certified professional, it’s time to let the world know! In addition to promoting your latest shiny credential on LinkedIn and your Trailblazer.me profile, there’s an official way for you to share with others that you’ve obtained a certification. This doubles as a way for you to check if any maintenance has to be completed.

This guide will walk you through the process of verifying your credential status and for others (such as potential employers) to check your Salesforce certifications directly on Trailhead.

WebAssessor Settings

First things first, you have to consent to your details being searchable and available on the verification page, which we’ll explore below. This step has to be completed directly on your WebAssessor profile by clicking “Edit Profile”, and then scrolling to the very bottom of the page:

This setting can be toggled whenever needed, and the information such as first name, last name, city, state, country, credential name, and the date it was earned will become public.

Trailblazer.me Profile

As a Salesforce certification holder, you’ll also have to maintain your credential directly on Trailhead, usually by completing a module by a certain date. To do this, you have to link your WebAssessor account with your Trailhead directly from the Trailblazer.me profile.

Note: You will only be able to do this after you pass at least one certification exam.

The WebAssessor email address must be connected to your Trailhead account before clicking the link button, and you’ll be able to select the email address. Once completed, your certifications will be visible to you and others who visit your profile. This is a very convenient way for community members to see each other’s certifications.

As you can see, Slack, MuleSoft, Tableau, and even Accredited Professional certifications can be added and displayed as well if you already have them. Additionally, you or others can easily search or sort the certifications directly on the individual profile, which comes in handy when different types of product certifications are on the list.

When maintenance modules become available, the certification status will change to let you know that maintenance is due. The message will direct you on how to keep your certification active.

You can find more information about this process on the Trailhead help page

Verification Page

This is where a potential employer looking forward to confirming your Salesforce credentials will most likely land. The verification page on Trailhead offers two options: to verify someone else’s certifications using their full name or email address or to check your own certifications’ status using the WebAssessor email address. Note that the middle name does matter if it was added, so if you don’t find someone immediately, you might need this information as well.

Verify a Professional

So, let’s verify a professional! You can test this out with your own name, which is similar to what I did in the video below:

Check Your Status

As a certified professional, this option is for you to verify the status of your certification(s) and find out if any maintenance is due and by when. After you input the email address linked with your WebAssessor account, you’ll receive an email with a breakdown of each certification and its current status.

Certification Updates

As the Salesforce offering evolves, new products come along and existing products are updated – certifications are sure to reflect that as well. Product name changes are just one example where certifications will be impacted, alongside expected content updates for the questions to be aligned with the current functionality.

Be sure to keep an eye out for notifications such as the one below if you’re already a certification holder. In case you’re studying for a certification, don’t forget to take a look at the exam guide from time to time as any changes in the curriculum will be reflected accordingly.
