Global Salary Trends
Average salaries depend on several factors, including age, the type of company you work for, and where you’re located.
All these elements play a significant role in determining compensation levels across the globe, reflecting economic conditions, market demand, and career opportunities. Let’s take a look at how salaries differ by age, company type, and the top countries offering the highest salaries.
Salary by Age
Your age and experience level have a big impact on your salary. Younger workers – particularly those in their early twenties – often earn lower salaries due to limited experience and entry-level positions. As people gain more experience and grow in their careers, their pay tends to increase.
Age

25-34

Salary by Company Type
The type of company you work for also affects your salary. According to our survey, freelance workers tend to earn the highest salary – this is perhaps due to the flexibility they have in setting their own rates and working with multiple clients. While freelancing can come with its challenges, it may be a great choice for those with in-demand skills and an established client base.
When it comes to different types of companies, the salary trends start to change depending on the nature of the work.
Company Type
Average Annual Salary (USD)

ISV/AppExchange Company

Global Bonuses
Bonuses are an important part of compensation for many professionals around the world. They serve as incentives for performance, rewards for meeting targets, or simply as end-of-year perks. According to our survey, 57% of respondents receive bonuses at their company, while the remaining 43% do not.
Bonus distribution also varies by experience level, with junior employees being the least likely to receive one. In the past year, 9% of juniors received a bonus, compared to 30% of intermediate professionals, 47% of senior employees, and 14% of directors. While juniors may have fewer opportunities for bonuses, this remains a great perk to negotiate in employment contracts.
Industry also plays a role in bonus distribution, with the technology sector leading at 26.1%, followed by professional services 16.6%, banking and financial services 15%, healthcare 6.8%, and manufacturing 5.9%.
Summary
The Salesforce ecosystem certainly offers competitive compensation to its trailblazers, though salaries can vary based on several factors. Do these findings align with your expectations? Let us know in the comments below!

Hi PJ, it depends which Architect path you are looking to go down. The 'System Architect' path requires PD 1, but not the 'Application Architect'. We will have a post coming out on this soon, so keep an eye out for that!
Why we can not find many Salesforce Administration or Salesforce architect jobs in India. There appears to be more Salesforce developers and with a salary of not more than USD 30-40k.
Even when I was in the US, salaries for Admin role did not go beyond USD 60k with many vendors coming in between and rarely the salary reached the consultant
That's economical difference. If you look at them in either pounds or dollars, there's still a big difference. Perhaps the UK isn't as invested into SF as the US...
We have other benefits via our social welfare system so we do not need to pay for healthcare, and better work life balance(common in western europe). However, we do pay for univeristy, the monthly costs are very low and it's taken pre-tax. Majority, of transportion is way cheaper across parts of Europe and costs of living is general cheaper in some parts too. Tons of factors are involved.
some companies way certs heavy, others look more toward experience. i tend to see experience is more important than a cert. back up your experience with a cert.
The US pay (in other salary related articles) is much higher also in comparison with other countries, including Switzerland, where salaries are generally higher than the rest of the world. To me it looks that there were 3 Silicon Valley companies used in the statistics for US region..
Lucy, can you please explain where this data comes from? Are there any official statistics, or the data are based on a selection of random job offers?
Hi Lukas,
The statistics come from the Mason Frank Careers and Hiring guide (2021). The 2022 edition is coming out soon.
While there are huge variations across the US, this figure is an average across all respondents.
The US has a higher purchasing power, and their Salesforce market is more mature.

Best,

LOL - there is no perfect job ;D
However, I know what you mean - you can't find the right job for you.
Are you seeking to build some experience? That may help.
As much as this was an interesting read, I find there are three things that frustrate me about all salary survey type reports:
1. The salary is not usually in my local currency, (Australian dollars) - at least this article referenced two countries (well done you!).
2. The data is not usually in my region (Australia / APAC).
3. It is difficult to compare apples with apples. I'd like to see information that reports on both income for 'salary' or 'permanent' staff, as well as for contract staff. Contract rates are a different story again.
I find the last point is the hardest data to obtain.
Infographic: 5 of the 7 roles show a set of figures in larger/bold font with smaller numbers below. There is no "legend" on the graphic to explain this difference, so what is the meaning of it. Also, why is it showing for only 5 of the 7? Could you guess I'm a BA :-) ?
Application Architect does also require PD1 certification. As someone who is an architect I need to know PD1 concepts but I don't need to write code. Different roles and different companies may have different expectations but the majority of the Solution Architects I know don't write code. We do need to read it to some extent and be able to discuss PD1 concepts.
Do your statistics include the African market? I am an experienced salesforce admin for a non for profit and holder of salesorce Admin Certificate and App builder certificate but I earn $750 net per month. How can I bargain for more pay based on the global trend?
