Agentforce Pricing Update: Salesforce Announces Major Changes

Salesforce have finally released some more updates on Agentforce’s pricing, introducing three major “pricing innovations”.

The first pricing innovation is the new Flex Credit system, meant to empower companies to scale and manage AI investments effectively, driving deeper and broader business outcomes.

Flex Credits offer customers a consumption-based model meant to align cost with business outcomes, ensuring businesses only pay for the exact actions Agentforce performs‌. They’re available in packs of 100,000 credits ($500), and customers can allocate AI spend through the Salesforce Digital Wallet to align with high-value use cases, optimizing AI initiatives for maximum impact.

Salesforce is also introducing new Agentforce user licenses and add-ons, including Agentforce usage.

The pricing for Agentforce for Sales, Service, and Industries, along with Agentforce 1 Editions for Sales, Service, Field Service, and Industries, will be announced at GA.

Salesforce Acquires AI Company Convergence.ai to Advance Agentforce

Salesforce has acquired AI agent company Convergence.ai in a bid to make their own AI offering, Agentforce, even more advanced

Convergence’s technology allows AI agents to deal with dynamic interfaces and manage web-based workflows and multi-step processes by adapting to challenges like pop-ups, errors, and UI updates in real time.

Salesforce expects the Convergence team and technology – based in London, with over 125,000 users and fewer than 50 employees – to play a key role in advancing Agentforce and shaping its broader AI roadmap. Their contribution is set to drive innovation in areas like deep research, task automation, and tailored industry solutions.

Although acquisitions are ordinarily seen as a healthy sign, Salesforce veterans may be confused that an AI company has been acquired as the cloud giant continues its all-hands-on-deck approach to Agentforce.

The Tech Layoffs Trend Continues: Is AI the Culprit?

The first few months of 2025 set the trend for mass tech layoffs, and as we head towards the middle of the year, it’s estimated that nearly 60,000 employees in the tech sector across 127 companies have been laid off, and it’s likely to continue. But why, and does AI have anything to do with it?

The number of tech employees laid off in 2025 is already nearing 40% of the total layoffs seen in 2024, with Microsoft among the latest companies to announce another round of cuts. Performance issues have not been cited as a reason for some of the latest layoffs (unlike earlier this year), but guess what has? The rise in efficiency and/or spending on AI.

With AI growing from strength to strength and pressure mounting in the AI race, further layoffs are likely to be caused by AI – especially if companies want to dedicate more resources to the cause.

Although there is no rulebook on how to avoid being laid off, it is evident that a lot of time and finances are being dedicated to the pursuit of new AI technologies, solidifying it as an extremely lucrative industry going forward.
