By Christine Marshall

Ready to take your Salesforce skills to the next level? We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand-new SQL for Salesforce course! Whether you’re looking to boost your data skills or increase your earning potential, this course is designed to add SQL to your toolkit.

SQL is a powerful tool for querying and analyzing data, and it’s in high demand. By adding SQL proficiency to your Salesforce expertise, you’ll not only become more valuable in your current role but also open the door to new opportunities in the data world.

Who Is This Course For?

Any professional wishing to add SQL to their skills!

Benefits include:

  • Employees with SQL skills earn an average of 10% more than those without, according to payscale.com
  • The job market for SQL skills is projected to grow 10% between 2020 and 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations (source: Bureau of Labor Statistics)
  • 72% of hiring managers in the United States consider SQL skills to be “very important” or “essential” when hiring for data-related roles (source: Indeed 2023 Hiring Report)

What Will I Learn?

This course will focus on Data Query Language, or DQL for short. The aim of introducing SQL is to focus on query and analysis use cases for selecting data from your database. This is a great starting point and gives you coverage and common ground when collaborating with analytics and data teams.

“My objective is to add SQL familiarity and hands-on experience to your array of skills. This should serve as a spark to turn familiarity into proficiency and proficiency into expertise! There is tremendous value in having SQL proficiency in the Salesforce ecosystem. All technical skills require time, dedication, practice, and experimentation. I hope to provide a foundation for SQL based on concepts you already know and understand well as a Salesforce professional. I will also provide you with resources and experts that I have learned from so you can continue your journey forward.”

Ryan Goodman, Course Instructor

We will leverage Snowflake to import data but will not get into SQL commands for creating and administering a database. A general understanding of data query language will open the door for you to explore other areas like data definition, data manipulation, and administrative functions, like data control and transaction control. I will explain various commands at a high level to give you a good foundation.

The SQL concepts and code you will learn in this course are universal. It will translate to most databases including, but not limited to, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreeSQL, and others. I will also reference Salesforce SOQL from time to time.

Summary

Our new SQL for Salesforce course is available now. By gaining SQL proficiency, you’ll boost your earning potential and open up new career opportunities. This course also draws connections to Salesforce SOQL, making it highly relevant for those working within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Hi Christine! What a great article! I am wondering if I can do this course with zero coding skills as a beginner? I am asking this because I am interested in purchasing the course. I look forward to your feedback, thank you!
